What was your first concert? The Beach Boys (sans Brian Wilson, sadly) at the Minnesota State Fair. It was the Still Cruisin' tour. I remember when cruisin' meant ... well ... OK, I was 8 or 9. I didn't know anything about cruisin'. Still don't.
What band/artist would provide the soundtrack for the movie of your life? Best case scenario, Brian Wilson (music, arrangement) collaborates with Mike Skinner (lyrics). Skinner's proven he can write enthralling tracks about a mundane and solipsistic existence, so I think he could nail my life story. And Brian Wilson would make it sound pretty.
What is your drink of choice to close the night? It used to be gin and tonic, but now I drink those pretty much all night if I'm not drinking beer. So probably water.
What do you like to do before you go to bed? Magic tricks.
Who would you most want to fight (living/dead/historical/fictional)? That kid from Captain Planet who had the power of heart. He sucked.
If you played a sport, what position and for what team would you play? Does Tetris count as a sport?
If you could prevent the existence of one band/artist, who would it be and why? I was going to say Smashmouth, but I'll go with the Beatles, just because it would be interesting (not that I'd want to live without Revolver and Sgt. Pepper and all of the rest, but I often wonder what would have happened to pop and rock had the Beatles not existed).
What album do you most regret purchasing? Rule 3:36, Ja Rule. The fact that I still own this makes me want to die a little.
What would be your weapon of choice if forced to compete in a real-life Street Fighteresque underground fighting ring? A gigantic polar bear.
What is your favorite flavor of Snapple? Kiwi Strawberry.
If you were going to die in a week, how would you like to go? Tragically rescuing my family from the remains of a destroyed sinking battleship.
What multi-hyphenated genre of music should exist that doesn't (yet)? I don't know why I made up this question. It sucks.
What office supply can you not live without? Post-it® Notes.
What are you better at than most anybody else? Again, Tetris.
What do you do when you're angry? Play guitar, run a couple miles or turn green and bulk up until my shirt rips off.
What is the most enjoyable day you've ever had? Finnegan's Summerfest 2007, at least in recent memory.
What is the greatest benefit of knowing Jesse Stensby? Always knowing I have somebody willing to split a pitcher or two at the CC.
