Name: Katie Curran

Place of birth:
Montclair, New Jersey

What was your first concert?
Boyz II Men when I was in 3rd grade.  I was obsessed with them.  I will never forget the shimmering sequence on the front of the stage as they sang “Water Runs Dry”…(pause for choking up)…it was just so beautiful.

What band/artist would provide the soundtrack for the movie of your life?
Thom Yorke.

What is your drink of choice to close the night?
Water.

What do you like to do before you go to bed?
Read.

Who would you most want to fight (living/dead/historical/fictional)?
Dick Cheney, hunting rifles banned.

If you played a sport, what position and for what team would you play?
Hurling for an Irish club team, any position.  I have no real knowledge of what the game entails, but it seems like it would be a super time!  Woo!

If you could prevent the existence of one band/artist, who would it be and why?
No one - every band and artist has served some cultural purpose, even if it’s not my personal cup o’ tea.

What album do you most regret purchasing?
Wait, people buy music?  Just kidding.  No regrets, I bought it for some reason.

What would be your weapon of choice if forced to compete in a real-life Street Fighteresque underground fighting ring?
I would want the ability to turn into Wolverine from the X-Men.  That way I could get crazy strength, keen senses, mad fighting skills, retractable claws AND the ability to heal quickly.  Cop out?  Yes.  Amazing?  YES.

What is your favorite flavor of Snapple?
I don’t drink it, but if you do I would enjoy reading the witty fun fact under the cap.

If you were going to die in a week, how would you like to go?
While laughing.

What multi-hyphenated genre of music should exist that doesn't (yet)?
Harmonica driven- new wave- techno- twee- punk.

What office supply can you not live without?
My favorite hot pink pen from Iowa City.

What are you better at than most anybody else?
Movie quoting and wearing a safety yellow bike helmet, sometimes simultaneously.

What do you do when you're angry?
Talk it out.  If that doesn’t solve things, I turn into Wolverine from X-Men.  …what?

What is the most enjoyable day you've ever had?
I try to make each day the most enjoyable.  A particularly swell day in recent history, however, was when I saw Radiohead at a castle outside Dublin with my mom, after we to the Guinness brewery in the afternoon AND saw several members of U2 outside their studio. That was a wild, wonderful day.

What is the greatest benefit of knowing Jesse Stensby?
Jesse and I have daily dance parties, and that is the greatest benefit of knowing him.  He may deny them, but don’t worry, he’s just rammin’ around.
